Heya PC,

Quick question, say for example you want to share some stuff with colleagues of yours, something like a bunch of texture, cubemaps or shaders for a specific app, and your buddies aren't exactly tech-savy, or you would like to avoid 'broken paths', how would you do it?

I was thinking of looking up way to set up an auto-installer, so they could define the 'base' folder (EI: Program Files/Autodesk/Max XXXX) and from there, the installer to install he needed stuff, each in their own folders, in the appropriate folders.

If that is a good way to go about it? Anyone has recommendation for programs in this area?

Cheers for any help!
There's a very good chance that I experienced MORE problems, then all the internet put together in the area of 3D. Talk about being original for once...

You can use some kind of installshield, i know install creator http://download.cnet.com/Install-Cre...-10218346.html has some of the features your looking for.

here is a small list, only tried a handful

So you could use these to say create a install program, and put each file wherever you want. Otherwise you can just use winrar or something and have make a few sub folders.

Hard part either way is if you want to install these, it needs to be placed in the exact location of the targeted application which may not be the same system to system.
