I downloaded a free model of some hair, to see if I can get the gist of how to make it myself, but when I opened up the model, theres practically billions of double faces, or overlapping normals (whatever the term is).

How would I go about deleting those faces in a way that wouldn't take around 24 years? I have a plugin or script called "delete double faces", but it just doesn't do anything. No errors, no confirmations, no visual cues. Nothing.

Are there any other plugins out there that deal with this issue?

I know I should be making my own hair, but right now I just want to get to the bottom of, and overcome this annoying problem, if at all possible.

Am I right in assuming the problem seen in the picture, IS caused by double faces?

Thanks to anyone who can spare a minute or two to help a guy out!
