Hello!

I am currently studying Game Art at The Game Assembly in Malmö, Sweden.
I am looking for an 30-week internship as a 3D Character Artist/3D Artist, starting in August, 2012 to April, 2013.

I'd really love some feedback on my portfolio.

Cheers!

Breakdowns. You need breakdowns. Wireframes, texture sheets, shots of sculpts, that kinda stuff.

edit: it seems you have your texture sheets on there, but there are some issues:
-files too large. 14 MB files take too long to download.
-there's no reason to upload the maps at true scale and it won't even fit on most screens. A 1024² combined image (512² per texture) should be enough.
-the button to get to them is tiny, and I glanced over it the first minute on your page. That can break the employers interest.

oh, and your banner image doesn't really read as teuta, I thought it said tentn, others might interpret it as tente or something else.

They are they you just missed them.

The site looks nice, but the navigation seems a bit finicky. Not sure if the site is just slow or things aren't loading properly.

It really solid all around, you have everything covered. Only thing it really lacks is content.

Your just missing the shots of the sculpts, and wire frames for the lowpoly versions.
She has the texture maps, It's the (View Maps) on each image.

Really like the Dr.Yanovski, was actually surprised by the quality.
Nice work, keep It up!

I'll try to enlarge all the buttons and scale down the maps.

I have one character left to upload before our application deadline, I don't think there's time for any more than that. :/

Thanks for the critique guys, I appreciate it alot!

Navigation is confusing and slow. On your projects section, what did you do on those? It's unclear what you did.

Your work is definitely great. I love the guy in the yellow suit.

As for the site, I would abandon the aspect of the site where you click on the image, and it loads the same image in what looks like the same size. I would just have it so that the image is saveable right at the first page. I would also have it so that you don't have to click to see the breakdowns of the models.

Art directors/artists in general are fairly lazy when they look at portfolio sites. You should have each character and all you have to show for that character just one click apart from each other if that makes sense. Instead of having to do 3 clicks per character to see every aspect of the breakdown.

Solid character work though!

Hey Teuta,

I'm not a character modeler, so I'll leave the critique of the actual art to other people. Your site in general looks nice, but the functionality is just much more complicated than it needs to be. All you really need is three large thumbnails on your first page that then link to another page with more detailed images of the characters and props. Another benefit to this would be that all your work will be immediately visible. As of now, the first thing I see is Maalik. I actually like the Dr. Yanovski model more though, and there's always an outside chance the hr/recruiter/art director won't click through and get to that. They might just judge you on the first thing they see, and decide it's not what they are looking for.

I don't know a ton about web stuff, but in general I would advise to stay away from anything flash or lightbox. You will find people who are ok with flash and lightbox, but you will also find an equal or greater amount of people that really hate them. In my opinion, it's not worth missing a job opportunity because of lightbox/flash.

If somehow you haven't seen this, make sure you read it: http://www.jonjones.com/2005/10/07/y...o-repels-jobs/

Anyways, your work is pretty cool, good luck!

Great characters, you need a few more I would say.

I am on a fast net connection and some pages, especially the projects section took a pause to load, on a slower connection it might be too slow? Also I personally prefer a gallery with thumbnails, that way I can quickly single out a character I would like to see. It's quicker, snappier. If I want to see the Fire extinguisher, I have to click on portfolio then two clicks to get to it (if I don't notice the small dots in the right corner). Personal preference though.

Hope that helps, good luck! ^_^

The one thing that leaps out at me is navigation. You've got your very first character with a white or near white background, with white arrows for navigation. Took me a little while before I figured out there was more than one character.

I would like to see you do with your portfolio what you did with your projects page. Basically I like to see all that your portfolio has to offer at once and then decide what to look at first. Also the lightbox takes a bit for me to load the image at first. With Maalik his bow seems like it should just be a standard long bow with one string instead a more complex version with wheels and cables and everything. Plus the wheel is really low poly and kind of takes away from the whole image. To me it just seems like you should have a different bow all together. I also think that you could get rid of the Doctor's gun because you did not model it, but that is really your choice. But other than that I like your models.

i like the yellow suit guy a lot! awesome!
i would like to see the wires and texture sheets with out clicking on the button for that, but thats just me. I tend to like when i can scroll down through a bunch of images, rather than a flip book style.

Thanks guys!
I have exported new images, so hopefully it will load a bit faster now.
Tomorrow I will try to make the first page look more like the project page, presenting all my work at once.
