What is the best way for hard edges in Landscape environments?
I will make naturally looking desert with many dunes. The problem is that my Dunes have a hard edge on the top and Heighmaps and Modelling in a Scultping tool alone cant produce a good curve and edge. I can modelling all dunes easy in Maya but i fear thats a very artificial look and the LoD optimisation and connection between all static mehses sound not very good.

Has somebody a idea?

Are you putting this into an engine or is it staying in Maya.

Make one dune. Copy the dune around a few times.

Searching some photos of dunes on the Internet, use those as your references, and just copy them.
