I really hope this issue wasn't talked in detail on another thread, because i looked allover the place and this is my last resort.

It's just me, or there is a huge lack of tutorials or learning resources about low poly effects like explosions, fire, lasers, spells, whatever ?!?

I'm looking mainly for tutorials on how to make something similar to 3D special effects like the ones used in Warcraft 3, DOTA, LOL, etc. I have a hard time finding something that looks great and it's still clean enough so it will help me with low poly games for mobile platforms.

Please guys, point me in the right direction, because of the generic words in what i'm looking for, i find all sorts of things related to AfterEffects, rendered explosions, and whatnot, but nothing really relevant to my problem.

I know my way around 3D apps, but i could really use some professional opinions because real time visual effects are new to me.

Thank you.

Booya...

EDIT: Maybe next time, explain more in-depth what you're looking for instead of asking a general question. You'll only get general answers, so you don't have the right to get testy about it later on. Text removed.

There's a very good chance that I experienced MORE problems, then all the internet put together in the area of 3D. Talk about being original for once...

The term isn't particles, but yeah, particles are one of the elements used. I know the technical part behind them, but making something more complex requires some know-how, animation timing, particles, shaders and a bunch of experience. It's not as simple as knowing how to throw some textures with alpha on them.

I'm just looking for some tutorials and documentation from some people that know their way around 3D visual effects, not some 101 on how camera facing quads are made.

Wow...yes, actually after looking in that thread, it made my whole day a lot easier. Thank you so much, i'm starting to loose my grumpy look i had on my face for a couple of days now. At least i finally have a great starting point.
It's a ridiculous "ninja art" and there is a serious drought in resources on the internet about the subject.

Thanks Again!!!
