created Cryengine old soviet swimming pool
on 03-20-2012 11:13 AM
This is an old project that never was published and I refurbished as I liked the original idea and to keep improving my skills with cryengine.
More decals and props to be done and change some details.
More images and videos soon available.

id say:
- make the trash somewhat brighter its too contrasty compared to the white tiles inside the pool.
- make one more banner cloth variant that is way more torn
- tone down the post filters a lot
and you got yourself a winner =)

Looking really cool. You might try playing with the secondary lights color and scale some. Might give it more visual interest and could even help with the scale.
keep up the good work!

Fuck imageshack.
Rehosted:
Good work so far. Needs a little work with the lighting, seems like a bit to much bloom to me, and the pictures a bit to washed out. If you ask me, its got to much post processing. Pool also looks a bit shallow for diving that high.
Water shader doesn't really fit the scene.
otherwise, solid work, welcome to polycount

I just got finished the project. There are some flickerings and other things I would change but I haven't more time at the moment.
And this is the video I rendered Please don't forget to turn on audio and HD

This is looking really cool I agree with Computron though on the depth of the pool its pretty shallow for a high dive like that. Another thing i would suggest is the lighting the scene is cool but the lighting itself doesnt seem to have any variation its pretty much just a reddish purple at the moment. Maybe try fooling around with the other lighting choices and see what you can get. Great scene overall though.

You're video has a really low frame rate, If you're using the new CrySDK, they finally got the AVI recorder working again, use that to get rock solid framerate and quality using prerendering.
As for the scene, I am not really sure what has changed since the last post.

I don't feel the soviet part of it. It actually feels like some destroyed american swimming pool captured by soviets.
I recomend playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R

You are right, but I can't make it work, it gives me an error in the initialization in the video recorder.
Well, it has changed a lot. The right part didn't existed, just to mention one thing
A shame you don't like it, it's just a fantasy scene and a visual exercise not a hyperrealistic recreation of somewhat in the world.
Open mind, comments like it's to swallow to swim dont contribute anything.
Cheers
