I've noticed that when I create a new spline or extrude modifier (for example), they won't have mapping coordinates by default. Does anyone know if there's a way to set it so that objects or modifiers automatically assign mapping coordinates? I've been looking through the program preferences, but I can't find anything that seems to relate...

click on 'generate mapping coordinates' for example create a circle spline, go to modify panel and click the checkbox.

No no I know that, but can I make it so it always has the checkbox enabled? When I check it once, it's enabled for everything of the same kind of object for that session, but sometimes when I open up a new session in Max and dive right in, I'll forget to check it. I'd like it to be on by default.
