Latest Updates will be edited in here:
Tweaked the colors a little more, edited my final composition. I don't know if shadows in Marmoset are acceptable so I may turn those off once I find out.

My designs are very generic right now, eww. I know skulls and spikes are very cliche but I'll figure this out eventually to get something I like.

I mainly want more bulk and a feel that everything is bound together once I get this refined.

I pushed the spikes / skull idea further, now I have like a demonic infection erupting up from the handle and out of the side of the skull.

Latest update, working on bulking it up, now I'll probably want to make it a little more structured as it still feels too organic.

I like the one with the twisting horns but that design needs to be refined overall. I'd say skip the wooden handle and integrate the skull with the horn, like they are growing out of the head instead of breaking it.

I like right concept from post #3. If you lean skull left and extend those spikes on the right you could achieve very nice axe weapon.
Good luck there!

Thanks for the input, I can strengthen the horns a little to be thicker with more twisting, I chose to avoid making an ax because everyone is making axes.

Still refining, I want to tighten it all up for a more solid mace feel. Right now the horns are still a little too flowy and it's not clear they're busting out of the skulls so I'll work on that too. Plus it's busy so a little jarring on the eyes.

the twisting horns are must in this design, it adds alot to the feel to the already nice concept you got.

Well, enough of this design revising. I know design is one of my weaker skills right now but it's time to call this finished and get on to modeling. Simplified the design a little more so it's not so busy and gave it a more solid heavy appearance.

Started my sculpting. Not happy with the end cap that I had to reproportion so I might redesign that. Going to retouch the neck to fit the roughness of the rest of the model and keep working on that 2nd horn that I seem to be sucking at.

Finally finished all the re-topology and my normal and occlusion bake. Here's a shot with the low poly + normal and glow. Starting to paint the textures now. Polycount is at 1378 so I still have room for some tweaks.

Ok, final composition is done, I'll sit on it for a day or two to see if I change my mind about anything. I wasn't really able to grasp the color usage that I wanted but I guess it'll be a decent piece for my lacking portfolio.
