sorry, but HOLLY CRAP! it's awsome!
my only crit would be i don't get the hang of the handle and it's end, since the head of the weapon is drawn in perspective but the handle is ortographic from a side view.. but kee it up, epic start!!

I'm gonna have to jump on the ol' anti-colours bandwagon here, solid black just doesn't feel Darksiders. a very deep red or purple maybe.

Looking cool, but the very first sketch you posted felt way more balanced then its current state.

tnx for the comments guys
Gill: dunno i didn't like the balance on the first one , i'd felt more random imo
updated the materials a bit as suggested and some other additions
edit: and the scaled down version so it fits the bounds better

awesome concept it looks like the user could have a lot of options on how to hurt the opponent when handling this thing

Looking awesome man. I'd like to see a stronger step/divide in thickness between the grip area and the pommel though. While its a minor detail, I really like your placement for the venting.

I really like what you got going on with the handle but the axe head itself looks just so inconsistent, like a bunch of separate pieces got thrown together. I'd love to see that black beast head to the left taking over the rest and forming the main weapon, perhaps like a crouched wolf figure or something.
Just my 2 cents...

tnx for the comments guys, i appreciate them a lot
Grimm: i'll try playing with those so they add a little more to the silhouette
Aimbiz : I can see what you mean but i have it in the back of my head that i'll make it work in 3d. This is a concept but i just know some things will eventually change once i try to translate it to 3d.

Really nice concept, and filling of this axe. Perspective is little confusing on back blade.

tnx for the kind words guys i'm still trying to find the balance between detail and hard edges/surfaces.
seems most people like the left skull so i'm going to try to take that approach . Anyway still a lot to block out first. Hopefully another update tonight

Solid sculpts. Nice to see tight and crisp lines without all the mushiness.
