Hey guys!
This will be the first polycount contest I'll be joining and I'm hoping to learn a lot from this experience.
I'm not sure what to make yet, I've made a few rough sketches of axes, hammers and maces and I'm interested in knowing which one you guys prefer.

A. Fallen/corrupt angel with broken wing. This is a demonic asset so the angel will look more demonic than angelic.
B. Dragon/demonic creature head
C. Demonic queen head statue thing
D. Demonic sheep skull
E. Possessed hammer
F. Double-bladed scythe with crow theme
G. Crow scythe
H. Bone scythe
I. Crystallic monster tied to a stick
J. Demonic creature mace.. or something

I quite like E with the eye. Might be cool if the ends of the hammer had teeth like spikes.

Gotta be C for me. It an original take on a weapon and you've got some strong lines there that will make a great silhouette.

Some strong designs here. I think C is the most interesting.

Cool, thanks, guys! C it is then. I'm thinking of having her head-dress form horn-like shapes for the blades and have the same face on both sides like a couple of Siamese-twin sisters or something. For the cloth design I'm going for something like this;

And for the facial expression I'll go with something similar but more subtle version of this;

Thanks, Kurry.
Ok, I got the flu when I came back from SF so I haven't managed to do much work. Feeling a bit dizzy as I speak. But here is the final concept I came up with;

Man, it seems like a lot of people I know caught the flu after GDC. Glad I didn't carry that back with me. Hahaha.

I like what you have going. I'm going to pass on some feedback I got on my stuff, you might want to make it less frail and more "chunky". Give it a bit more weight, these are supposed to be heavy weapons for Death, so it should look like something that has a lot of OOPMH. The design is really cool, I just think it needs more power to it.

lol I got that flu on the plane back...was pretty hard to keep it together. At least I had an isle seat. Nice looking stuff. My suggestion would to be to have the blades sweep down a bit more. As of now it kind of looks like one of those pendulum blades.

Oh nice, some feedback. Yeah, I'll make it more chunky and sweep the blades down a bit.
@Dylan: I've gotten a bit better now though. I've been having feverish dreams about sketching and crunch cast. Glad all of that is over now. Are you doing any better?

I decided to go for a more "infected demon" approach to this. I added eyes to the blades since her eyes are covered and I made the whole axe more compact and heavy looking like artstream recommended;

I wasn't planning on finishing this at first but now that the flu is pretty much over I think I'll try and finish it in time.
