Just got into digital art a few days ago. Here's what I did today- a lot of room for improvement but I'm having fun!

I love this brush work, man. Is this a PS work?

Yessir, pure oval brush in PS-CS6. Thank you!! I think rendering and stuff is finally making sense to me, still feel clumsy though. But I think I'm sort of ... drawing more than painting it? It's horribly inefficient but it is what it is.

Hey everyone!
Finally found time to start painting the new version of the judge I posted here awhile back
Still quite a lot that needs to be done, but aiming to finish it tonight.
Also I'm not sure if this is the place to be posting this, should these go in the WIP thread instead? Please lemme know if it actually should be somewhere else.
Same as before, all critiques welcomed
Thanks!

@ Sam Yang: I like the white + gold color combination. And she looks more like a crusader now! I think the book and hand holding it could be bigger when I compare it to the size of her hand on the shield and to her face, and taking into account the camera angle and how small her hand must be inside that gauntlet... I also still think the skin would need some other hues than yellows and oranges. You might find this skin painting workshop interesting: http://www.imaginefx.com/02287754333...9/tutorial.pdf
Looking forward to seeing the next step!

Meching around in CS6. Some lovely new features in it. Wish I had a tablet with tilt. Definately need to upgrade my Graphire4....

Thanks Nina! Will be sure to check that tutorial out, could definitely use some help with those skin tones
Here's a little update! I actually made the other hand smaller instead, but I think you might be right - both hands will need to be bigger instead. Also I'm just realizing now that there's an uneven amount of yellow on certain places :P
Will try and do a final pass on this tonight if time permits!

I never know either! But I'm sure once this kicks off it'll be the 2D wip thread, actually. Wouldn't be surprised.
@Stinger88 yessss don't CS6 just magically speed up your day?
Tilt is neat but it's actually a little bit glitchy still, when tabbing in and out. Looking sharp.
@tacit math
he looks so happy
@suburbum
sketch thread! Sketch thread!
Her gloves really stand out to me btw, pretty. And face.
@Allan-p
your colours make me happy. Is that paintchat?

Fleshy bio-exoskeleton suit idea made from cloned lizards and nanoscience magic.
needs leg design. And eyes. Eyes everywhere.
Brown= skin and scale plating, will probably eventually be almost grey/black.
Green= flesh. The lines are where it would crack open. The dots are probably more like pores of some sort. It'll probably bleed green too.
And the eyes would be some yellow shade.

old WIP versions

I like the red-eyed mecha, Stinger88! It's foothold on the ground seems very sturdy, too.
sub: The greyscale character looks very well rendered! I think it could be mistaken to be a character concept for some MMORPG.

Yep stinger88 ^^ good old alchy
Its funny I mostly just play around but it's so hard to make good art all the time, feel like I have to do 3-5 bad ones to get 1 good and then again and again XD
