Hi, I´m wondering how do you guys, make your videos of cinematics.

I´m in the final stage of my proyect ( http://www.polycount.com/forum/showt...ht=Lost+Island ).

I´ve readed that UDK has a pre-rendering system, but this method does not capture sound (becouse It is not realtime is being pre-rendered).

So the only way to capture both, video and sound is to use Camtasia or their free version? or a sofware alike, but I don´t have a "monster pc".

How you would do?

Regards.

Yeap I readed those articles before to post anything, and finally I found a very usefull software that can capture ingame video and sound without having to use a beast of pc, with good frame-rate. It is Fraps, it works like camtasia should, and is cheap.
Finally I can capture my cinematic in UDK game.

You can setup cameras within udk, then export it as a movie

Hmmm...I'm trying the method richwderby posted, and everything goes well until I try to export the video. No matter the size of the video or whether its an avi or fraames, UDKgame will crash before even getting past the splash screen. I've tried it on a few different scenes.

My March release doesnt crash, but the video only captures BSP, none of my geo Im going to test and see if this is because I am capturing in DX 11.

Do you have a player start added in your level? You also need a 'player spawned' event inside of kismet that is connected to the 'play' slot of your matinee sequence.

I have a player start and the 'player spawned' hooked up. The sequence still only renders BSP and my skybox.

Are you saving your packages externally? That will cause exactly what you're talking about.

Yea, always save your packages into the content folder or else they won't show up in game ;)
