Hi ya all!

My name is Erik, im a game art student at The Game Assembly in Sweden. Im a newby here at polycount, but the sketchbook thing sounded cool so here i go

Hey man, Thanks! Yeah I really need to work more on dynamic poses, it´s my current area of practise when drawing

Been working on a Lowpoly project for my school. During the week we where tasked with creating a lowpoly model with a limit at 500 tris and a diffuse map of 128x128.

Wow, really digg that Neon Samurai character, nice concept and lowpoly model!
You could use an Emissive map on him too really make him look Tron-ish!

Oh I wish I could but since this was an assignment from my school we had certain rules to stick to, one of them was that we where not allowed anything other that an 128x128 diffuse map with alpha.

Next model mate, next model.

you have some really neat concepts and I'm digging your neon samurai's. I don't know if you were aiming for low poly with your character model but you had a little stretching in the face due to how far you were stretching those polys. Good news is the flow looks solid right now, so if you add a flew more edge loops and give each polygon its deserved real estate you'll have a nice looking face there. Keep it up : )

Thank you for the comment, and yeah I was aiming for low poly. It was actually an assignment in school, so there where rules to stick to. We where not allowed to use more than 500 tris and a 128x128 diffuse map with alpha. Some of the stretching might also be a side effect of the rigg and pose.

Thanks though, next project we will be allowed a bit more tris (about 2000) so hopefully things will be a bit smoother there

This week me and my classmates where given the task to create a 3D weapon for a first person shooter. We where allowed 3000 tris to work with. The focus of this assignment was to work with high poly and low poly models, as well as Normal, Diffuse and Specular maps.

Btw Såg att du pluggar på Skövde, Va faktiskt en av de skolor som jag sökte in till, vilket år går du? Själv började TGA nu i Höst.

Började också plugga i höstas , Har valt inriktning mot 3D. Får ni på TGA också göra något val om vilket område ni är mest intresserade utav? höll på att söka till TGA men missade sista inlämningsdag för att skicka in stuff som man hade gjort, tror de hade någon annan sista ansökningsdag än om man skulle söka till högskolan.

Nej det väljer vi efterhand som vi pluggar, något som man bestämer i tvåan eller senare tror jag.

Ja det stämmer det va lite andra tider där, kom in på Skövde också men eftersom TGA va mitt förstahands val så bestämde jag mig för att tacka nej. Känner en hel del folk so har pluggat på Skövde. Det e en bra skola, aningen mer teori dock. Kom bara ihåg att sitta så mkt du kan på fritiden om du vill bli bra btw, även om vi jobbar skitmkt i skolan så sitter jag med 3D och 2D hemma också, tips är att kolla en massa tutorials på youtube
