wow awesome work one question, what's the 4th texture map you have at the botom right? i'm guessing either spec or gloss? i'm inclined to say spec and the top left is gloss, would apreciate it! But yeah overall great work, looks brilliant, love the work on the face.

really nicely done! the presentation works nicely too, great materials.
The only thing that throws me off a bit is the leather. You may want to adjust it a bit cause those lines that run along the length of the hilt/leather keep making me think of wood as I'm looking at it and i get a mixed up sense of what the material is.

I thought that the handle was wood the whole time so if it is supposed to be leather then yes it needs to be changed but this piece looks really solid

Great work. I think your presentation of your art killing it though. It is too busy with all the messy splatter crap in the bg, but the work is solid. That may just be more of a personal preference on my end though.

Thank for comments.. But there is one problem - there is no leather at all))
botom right map - diffuse
top right map - shot from UDK for symmetry

Yar the wood reads as leather. One reason would be that the wood grain doesn't show up in the normal. This could happen if the wood was polished, but then the final material should appear way more glossy and have a strong specular. Another reason is the way it interacts with the metal "ribs" at the bottom of the handle. The wood has nice holes for them to fit in with some extra space around it and the wood actually seems to bulge out at the places just like leather would to make room for the ribs. Personally I'd expect the ribs to be hammered into the wood (like nails), so the wood would fit tightly around it. Also obviously you can carve wood to have the bulging pattern, but in this case it makes it read like leather.
Anyway! apart from that it's looking great. Would fit perfectly in dead island.

Great design and job, my only crit would be that your Low poly mesh is a bit of a mess, lots of lots polygons were they don't add any detail, Improve that and it will be perfect!

Cool Design, I feel like most of it could just be mirrored to save texture resoluton.

Now THAT'S a knife! Really excellent work dude. As others have said the leather looks like wood, but other than that it looks awesome to me.
