Hello to all fellow artists. I'll be using this thread to post my work for C&C. I'm mainly doing characters and weapons. However, I sometimes work on vehicles and other props as well. I find it most fun to work on military related models.
The following posts are of several finished high-poly weapon models I created at work. From these high-poly's I had to retop low poly models (they all had to be around 2000-2200 triangles) and bake normal maps for a mobile device game. Due to a little tight schedule and the low polygon budget, I have omitted some of the smaller details of the weapons, such as sling swivels and some minor details invisible form a FPS-perspective.
Unfortunately I can't share the low-poly models. I don't want to, either. Another artist, a friend of mine, textured the final low-poly's when I was finished with the map baking part, so I can't really say they were too much of my own work.
I will post the models in the order of their creation.
First - the RPD light machine gun:
A Selous Scout model I've been working on in my spare time lately. I hand-painted the skin and facial hair in the texture later on. I'm still not very good with polyopainting. I only used polypaint for the legs' and hands' texture.
The Low-Poly ~ 13000 triangles.
C&C would be much appreciated on this one. It's still WIP.
Some development on the scout's rifle.
I still need to paint some of the small details and to refine the normal map a bit.
By the way - can anyone here enlighten me as to how to fix marmoset's awful AAA issues when outputting screenshots?
