Hi!

I have subscribe a few month ago and I don't have stop to learn from threads and from the wiki. But today, I have come with no answer to one question.

What is the proper way to get 3D art from a concept art when you have no height reference or anything you can measure?

I'm doing the blocking of this concept art from Jim Martin.

I'm feeling lost for the moment to don't have the proper measure or something I can refer properly. I have to adjust my blocking each time I do a change to the scene. It's hard to me to set the scene and go further with the high poly.

What a professional will do in that case?

When I subscribe to Polycount, I was kind of busy with my final project study. Where I was leading my team in several projects. I skip the presentation at that time due to different reasons(Language and time to do something else than school project). But after a few week of rest, I'm ready to join the community.

You take a wild guess and then go from there. To me the door looks like a normal sized door, so I would guess that's about 2 meters in height. I usually place a 3ds max Biped with an height of 1.8 meters in my scene when I start a blockout, makes it easy for me to refer to a normal persons proportions inside the scene.
