Sharing a new tool that I made for 3ds max. Enjoy :)
  • Creating Continuous threads, (for exmaple tanks, escalators,..)
  • Easy To Use! Select your track Items and the spline, click on “Build track” and Ready!
  • Live editing and friendly-Rigged so that you can use it in expanding your vehicles/models.
  • Another cool thing is that you can create amzing looking complex meshes in no time with perfect control.
  • These quick examples are made with trackMaker (aprox, 2min for each model)
  • The tool is still in Beta. Ideas so bug-reports more than welcome!

That looks nice. So how does it work? Do you create one small piece of geometry and then the script instances it along the spline?

yes that s the way to go, you can also select multiple geometries and one spline, so that you have more variety in your model.

The examples are made with multiple tracks, for example the middle one is => 1 box on circle, snapshot that track, snapshot on a new circle, snapshot that one and that snapshot on a last circle :)

This way you can make more and more complex meshes.

The system underneath works with path contstraints which makes it perfect as a rig for example a tank thread. Click on "Make Controllers" and you get a controller for the spin that you can link on your model or for animation.

Hope you like it, let me know how it goes :)
