So i was just messing around with marmoset, and i was wondering if there is any way to mimick the environment lighting that marmoset offers within 3ds max using 3point shader or by any other means?

Stick a blurred light probe in 3points ambient light slot

I think Marmoset also calculates the keylight from the probe. no way to do that except with a light in max.

r_fletch_r is bang on the money (I'm not 100% sure what that expression means)

You can use ATI's cubemapgen to properly blur cube maps. Save the mip chain as well so you can do the in-shader blur properly.

There will be a more straight-forward toolset for everything cubemaps down the line.
