Women are tricky.
Latest Update:
I swear this IS the LAST update. Slight texture tweeks, and presentation adjustments.
I am gonna let this thread die now

I have decided to get some practice with the fairer sex. Since I hardly ever make women I don't expect this to go that well but hay that is what practice is for
A mate from work showed me a concept image for the new "Gotham city imposters" game and I decided to create my own Batgirl. Wish me luck
Give me a yell if you spot any issues. thanks

this is gonna be good! MM those fixes look pretty solid.

looks nice man, I like how it's almost the opposite of your usual style as well (proportion wise). at this stage MM's paintover pretty much covers it I think

Love the proportions you have going, I think MM makes a good point with his paintover. Looking forward to the rest!

Sweet proportions. Heads too far back on the neck, as MM paintover points out.
Will be watching though. I expect "awesome"...

Thanks everyone
@ MM: Thanks heaps. That paintover, it really helped.
@ jarrede: Thanks . I am using heaps of ref but mostly I am just noodling around to see if I like what happens......yep.... great workflow. I will post up a ref sheet soon.
Still working on proportions , going to re topo with hands and feet before I go too much further.
As a side note I have changed her from Batgirl to Poison Ivy, she works sooo much better for the direction I want to go.
Still super wipy but there is some progress:
The face still needs a heap of work: She needs more plump in them cheeks.
Thanks again everyone.

imagine what it'd look like if her legs were closer together in a normal standing pose... super wide butt.. kinda gives her a ducky vibe.
and those legs are extreemly long.
i'd say that this is even beyond anime.
i'd scale em down just a wee bit.. maybe thats just me tho.
lookin forward to your next update.

I think this character is awesome! If I were to make critiques I'd say maybe should the butt be a lil rounder from the back view? Also I reckon the legs are long and stylized, which cool, but maybe arms should be a bit longer! Does anyone agree? I'm not the best person to be giving critiques on this subject, so I need some backup on this, don't want to give the wrong critique. Character is looking amazing!

It's an interesting direction but she feels a bit disproportionate at this stage rather than pleasingly stylised. You probably really only need some subtle changes to make her work though.
I think if you accentuated the curve on the leg - bulk out the front of the thigh, gave her a more distinct knee and pushed the lower leg back it might help things.
You might like to try lengthening her arms and neck a bit to pull things a little closer to proportion too.

hey Duncan, the body looks great. here is another po for the neck and head position issues i notice currently. the eyebrow issue could be subjective so take it with salt
you could try adding some stylized hair to get a better feel of the character.
anyways, keep going.

Looking good Duncan. I agree with MM's paintover, particularly the neck position, the more angular eyebrows and upper lip shape. Looking forward to your next update.

@ MM: Thanks man . I am not sure why I posted the head shot I have not really done anything with it. But when I do I am totally going to head in that direction. Thanks again.
Here is a super quick ref sheet. I have heaps of ref but this sums it up the best. I guess.

looking excellent, I love the face. MM's paint over really adds to it too.
one thing that you might do is add a little more volume to the back of the head. it looks a bit small.
also the pinch on the brow line looks a little too hard.

looking great there Sir! I'm digging the style and Poison Ivy is much more interesting than BatGirl - but how do you concentrate when looking at all that killer ref??!

@ Daniel Riddle: Thanks man. But she has changed again, mwahahahahahaha
@ r_fletch_r: hehehe Thanks. Yeah when I get around to the head again I am definitely going to smoth that out it was just a landmark for sculpting.
Here we are. I have changed my mind again. Being home sick I spent the weekend doing shitty little paintovers and eventually ended up on this Zombie fighting chick. Zombies ate her pants so now she puts an axe in their face. Everything is placeholder at the moment, just working on a thought.
