Hi there! Here is what I'm gonna try to do : a mix of Raphael from soul calibur and some high tech or mechaniacal parts ( probably one arm and some parts of the face/neck). I'm also planning to change his proportions and color scheme to something a bit darker while keeping the most important thing: his french arrogance

Wow. This is looking really interesting. I like his mechanical arm. Cant wait to see some more spice in this design

I hope you will add some delicate futuristic details on his clothes to better match times of his existence

Konras : Yep that' what Im'pl aning to do, adding fine futuristc/matallic details here and there on really specific locations. I don't want to cover him with tons of stuff, just keep it simple and elegant but detailed.

Haha, I love that Blame! is part of your reference! Very cool, looking forward to this. The idea kind of reminds me of Raiden from Metal Gear Solid (who was very awesome!)

Thanks for your replys guys, here is an update. The color scheme is absolutely not final. Actually nothing's final. I removed the boots from the original Raphael, to have more simple and modern looking pants. I also tried quickly something different for the hairstyle. I'm still wondering how far I should push the differences from the original design.

Her chest and arm looks really fantastic. I liked the previous shoulder more with this massive "ornament" on it, but thats still probably WIP? Also his long hair were more similar to original design and were looking much better with his outfit. Talking about outfit... maybe you could take/mix some elements from smart-suit (as it is something that futuristic gentlemen would wear

Holy crap you do game models too!?! Big fan of your other cgwork. He look great so far, fun character to play as, as well. I think the shorter hair works better, since he looks sort of like Dante with the long hair.

Thanks guys. Yep he looks a bit like Dante but I kkinda like that. But we'll see, I mean I'll change the hairstyle many time until it's final. I'm still searching refining the overall silhouette wjile detailing sopme specific parts.

wow is coming together really nice!
At first I was sceptic about the choice... damn I hate that guy in SC

... but u are mixing some cool Ideas in the design and the results are starting to be interesting!
Anyway to be honest, after seeing Blame! as reference for your design I can't be more pleased with your choice! such an amazing piece of sci-fi work!
I was planning to enter the competition with a blame! inspired version of Zero from Megaman before going for a revision of a famous plumber... :poly121:

Hi guys,
Here is what I get after an horrible week of baking and texturing.
There are loads of crappy stuff especially in the normal but I don't have time to render it again. I'll try to fix ir for tomorow. I hope to make a proper pose in time. I'm not sure about that either... Anyways here it is :

arm design is pretty epic man love the lower half of it especially, and the clothing is awesome. crits on the rapier are accurate, i think the whole thing could be scaled up tbh.

Damn reiv! If it is any comfort, I cant really see the crappy stuff .. all I see is awesome concept, and great execution. Material definition looks great, design rocks, ... agreed (whole) rapier could be bigger.

Thanks guys, you're right about the rapiere size, I've already scaled up the blade but the handle is still too small. I'll fix that.
