The work you have is pretty impressive, although I'm not a fan of blog-style portfolios. Your texturing is great, I would really like to see you do something a little out of your comfort zone or in a different style. A+ work, though.

WOW! your work is so inspirational! im just starting a weapons/vehicles portfolio for school (mostly for me because i dont really give a damn what the school wants to see because their credibility is washed down the toilet and im too far into the program to quit now but thats beside the point). im definitely going to be spending a lot of time looking at your work. once again.. amazing job on everything you've got there!

Wow, ^ that means a lot, thanks for all the comments guys. I guess the only thing "bloggy" about the site is the news section which i think i'm gonna toss out, since its not really needed..

you always pick such attractive shapes for your textures, even if something else isn't right the shapes just pick it up. wonderful stuff man!

Gorgeous texture work on those guns, fucking sweet!
I love all of the little details you added, paint, scratches, additional materials. Also really respect the restraint of color and noise! Dig the varying levels of noise in specular on the metals too, to define surfaces more. When coupled with the diffuses, you get a really cool feel to the guns.
awesome stuff! Pencil tool fo' life!

Awesome stuff... Bookmarked for reference!
BUT...
Whats up with the mountain and water background?? http://www.polygoo.com/port/ak94.html
i would remove those images.
Also remove the grid in this image. http://www.polygoo.com/port/sv45.html
Try and get the same images but with different guns for all your weapon shots. Try and get everything to match.

I like the mountain shots a lot actually. The small pitting on the metal surface in the normals looks really nice with the darker finish/dirt buildup. I do think its a little strange that the gallery starts with the high poly and not the textured version though.
Alan, I noticed you are doing that on all the guns where you show a high-poly. Is that to differentiate the guns with height-map normals from the full bakes? I don't think that's really necessary since I am having a hard time telling which have height map normals.

Thanks guys!
Lol the mountain and water is just a map it's spawned in from udk, didn't think it was that big of a deal.
I have way too much stuff to go and take consistent shots of every single asset, I agree about showing the hp on some and not on others, yea I could just show 1 high poly shot of the ak instead.. And yea I gotta retake the shot of the sv45 without the grid.

I'm in awe! The small details on your texture is just titty dripping nice!
Why not show your textures? Dosn't make any sense cause that's what you did on all those guns. I would love to see them!
Could you tell us a little about how you made those terrain textures. Looks ace!
Everything stated by me is my personal opinion and it is not in any way related to Avalanche, if not stated so.
