I am looking for different HLSL shaders to render viewports in maya. But my search has not been so easy. In max you can just use xoliul shader and be like FTW! But it doesn't work in maya. I was wondering if anyone had a good working shader for maya 2011 that isn't broken. Thanks!

What problem are you having with the xoliul shader in Maya? I just tested and it works fine in Maya 2011.

When I plug in the diffuse nothing happens. I don't see anything, its jut white or grey or whatever.

Did you add a light to the scene and put the light's name into light1_Position? Otherwise, it won't show up on my end.

Yeah that's Maya's terrible interface for shaders, people get confused by it.

Not to mention Maya's viewport does not support real-time shadows with CGFX/HLSL shaders nor any post-processing effects, like Max does.
