This website really helped me out finding my direction and whatever I need to learn. There are advance books of it as well, if you need them.

Search for a fella named Hourence, has a couple of great level design books I recommend. Also for architecture, check out Experiencing Architecture by Steen Eiler Rasmussen.

thank you guys so much...i just did a quick glance at http://www.worldofleveldesign.com/ before i leave at work and so far i love it..gives good insight on what i am doing wrong on becoming a level designer...
