I thought I'd pimp my Batman model I did for the Comicon challenge going on right now. The high poly model was made with Sculptris and everything else with PS and Max. Hope you guys like him. C&C welcome
Such intensity! This is looking great, struve. I love how the pose just emphasizes everything upward in the direction he's facing, culminating in that super exaggerated expression he's making as if he's stressing out every muscle in his face! Very cool.
How was your experience using Sculptris? Is that a popular sculpting choice for hi-res character models for you and others here on Polycount?
jrmenace: Isn't that part of the gag with Batman? That he has this unlimited arsenal of options but he's just wearing one belt with x number of pouches? But you're right, realistically, I suppose he would have some more space in there for different things.
A great sense of movement. I feel like he could really terrorize some bad-guys. I wonder what your rendition of Bruce Wayne would look like? He'd look very buff based off this.
Love the style its very classic Batman. The only problem I can see is with the light square/check material texture overlay highlights some of the UV seams. Like in the 5th picture down for example around the shoulder area. Might be the resolution playing tricks however.
His muscles are OK but that suit must be supertight for EVERYthing to be showing. It's too late but I think it would be a better if there were some cloth folds etc that let you know he was wearing a suit and that's not like a bodypaint suit he's wearing.

pangarang - I just used the default scanline renderer in max. A lot of what's going on is in the texture, I'm big on RTT.

Looks great. I haven't seen a lot of people use Sculptris to make models like this so I'm interested to know how you feel about it and how it compares to Zbrush/Mudbox/etc. I tried it out briefly before and found it had a certain feeling to it that I had trouble adapting to, but it looks like you've done very well with it.
Pretty neat stuff man. Face looks a little orange tho. Bruce Wayne spray tans? (I realize its probably just a warm light)
Also, why no belt buckle on the utility belt?

The diffuse feels gummy on him.
I cant tell if it's the Normals/AO/diffuse but the parts of his muscles look like they werent projected well.
Also, this isn't really a crit, but this Batman definitely knows about the GTL lifestyle
