This is my first post on these forums and unfortunately I'm going to be asking for some help. Firstly before I continue, I just wanna say what a rad community you guys have going on here, I've been a lurker for some time, especially enjoyed browsing the various low poly comps. Keep up the great work!
I'm a programmer not an artist and I'm currently writing a C++ Collada importer for use by hobbyists and indie programmers looking to write their own games in C++ using DirectX or any API, I'm returning the data in a slightly more DX friendly manner tho.
Now I've got the geometry importing working and am starting on the material importing section but unfortunately I cant find any decent test models to work with. I'm looking for models that have multiple textures per material (spec maps, color maps, normal maps, etc).
After my material system is complete I'm planning on getting animation working, and so will need test models for that as well...
Like I said I'm a coder and not an artist, I have no experience with any 3d DCC tool, and trying to learn one now is something I don't have the time for. I'm hoping that some of you would be kind enough to hook me up with some test models that I can use to build my model importer library.
Initially I just want static models, and later on I'd really appreciate some rigged models.
