I just found another bug - Rotation Angle snapping isn't respected in the Axis_Rotate tool, it just rotates as if Rotation Angle wasn't set.

And now rmb isn't recognised on my tablet, whereas it works fine in Maya (and everywhere else). My settings also changed, despite the fact I've used vw all day yesterday and things worked fine. Nothing changed, aside from Windows updates, and turning off the tablet pen shit (and turning it off again after windows update turned them back on. Thanks, Microsoft)
edit: actually turning off the Tabletpc service rather than just turning off all that shit manually fixed the rmb problem.
For an example of which settings changed, my w, e and r tools changed 'turn on manipulator' from 'On Tapped' to 'on activated'. My loop selection also changed, although I don't know in which way, all I know is that my loop selection is messed up (it deselects stuff on the second click)

new update.
http://www.digitalfossils.com/Downlo...-May-15-12.rar
Summary of changes:
* Subdivision performance improved, 50%.
* Clip planes can be adjusted manually. Edit > Preference > Clip Plane.
* File > Clipboard > Copy/Paste. This can be used to transfer models between other apps.
* Dimension Snap option is added to instance creation.
Thanks!
MightyPea: The bug is fixed. The settings are saved in a file so there should be no way it can be changed by a windows update.

This is an old feature request, so sorry if there's a technical reason it can't be implemented:
Can the bridge-tool highlight edges it can connect to? Same thing with Vertex welding and any other tools where this makes sense, it would be lovely. I think the workflow of just holding down the brdige hotkey and dragging over another edge is fantastic, and this would make it even more comfortable.

+1 sounds usefull for doing bridge or merge operations while in wireframe mode.

Perfect! Could you also make them perhaps 1px thicker?
Another idea I had was to introduce some visual feedback to manipulator-less operations such as Axis_move. One idea is to indicate on the mini-axis in the top right of the viewport which axis or plane things are being moved/scaled/rotated on?
edit: small inconsistency I found: In the bridge tool, with single bridge I can click on the first edge, drag over to the second one and let go. With multi, I need to click twice. I like that both options are available in single, but do miss the dragging method in multi.
Also, Voidworld is awesome!
Been doing an onsite freelance job where I was supposed to use a particularly buggy Maya install, but instead just modeled everything in Voidworld.

I am so happy to hear that how vw can be used!
As for the multi-edge-bridging tool, I think you can just use one click. 1. hotkey. 2. MMB click the first edge. 3. Move cursor over the second edge then let go hotkey. It works for me.

Oh, I see! I thought Multi Bridge used your selection, but it seemingly just loop grows the edge you hovered? That works, thanks
I don't know if you've seen this, but if possible I'd like to get something similar in VW: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99132
I know there are no modifiers in VW, but is there any possibility for non-destructive modeling tools? You would use edge weights to define the Chamfer thickness.
I like working with edge creasing, but would prefer chamfers over sub-d smoothing. This leaves me with a cleaner (less dense/cpu-intensive) mesh, with the same visual result! This makes exporting and baking a lot more pleasant.
This Quad Chamfer modifier has the advantage that you're softening edges, without adding a lot of loops on the rest of a mesh. It certainly has other advantages too, but that's the part of it that I'm most interested in.
Also, is there currently a way to set the chamfer segments without going into the options? Perhaps using the scrollwheel?
To clarify how that would work (and it would work well for me since I don't use the scrollwheel to zoom):
-select/highlight edge
-press-and-hold f
-drag mouse to determine chamfer width
-scroll up to increase segments
It would also be nice if Rounded Bevels were displayed as such while using the tool, but perhaps this is not possible?
Lastly, perhaps always open a tool's options in the side-panel while using it and allow the user to adjust its settings afterwards (before you do anything else)? This would allow me to do the bevel as described above (using streamline tools) and decided immediately afterwards that I'd like the bevel to be flat rather than rounded.
I'm not asking for a complete history as in Maya, but just on the last tool.
Ofcourse, I realise this might not be possible in VW, so just let me know.
edit: I'm trying to set my tools up so they activate the tool with options 'on tapped', so I can tap once to activate the tool with options, and just hold-and-drag to quickly perform it. So far though, I'm having no luck. I'm trying it with Chamfer in Edge mode, any idea why this isn't working? I'll download the latest version at work as well, to check if it's not just a bug.
edit2:
I realise I'm asking for a lot already, buuut:
Could delete be added to the Streamline Tools? This way I could have delete on tapped, but when held down I could Merge verts/Collapse edges&faces or whatever else is thematically related.

MightyPea tap a number key before completing the chamfer.
also ya the last tool thing would, be nice, blender does it this way as well, you can edit the last too paramaters after use, as long as you dont do any other operations.

Q: I know there are no modifiers in VW, but is there any possibility for non-destructive modeling tools?
A: No. Sorry.
Q: It would also be nice if Rounded Bevels were displayed as such while using the tool, but perhaps this is not possible?
A: It is possible. I will try that at some later stage.
Q: is there currently a way to set the chamfer segments without going into the options? Perhaps using the scrollwheel?
A: Hit a Number key.
Q: Lastly, perhaps always open a tool's options in the side-panel while using it and allow the user to adjust its settings afterwards (before you do anything else)? This would allow me to do the bevel as described above (using streamline tools) and decided immediately afterwards that I'd like the bevel to be flat rather than rounded.
A: Try this.
1. Press down 'F' key.
2. Press down LMB to activate the chamfer tool.
3. Hit 'Home' key to bring up the chamger tool's param panel. You may release 'F' key if you find it's too difficult to reach 'Home' key.
4. Press down 'F' key again to keep the tool alive as you are going to release LMB.
5. Release LMB.
6. Use mouse to move the tool's panel to let the programe know that you want to keep it open on the tool activated next time.
7. Release 'F' key to exit the tool.
Now do this.
1. Select some edges.
2. Press down 'F' key.
3. Press down LMB to activate the chamfer tool. The tool's panel should appear.
4. Drag LMB to do some chamfering.
5. RMB to cancel the chamfering.
6. Release LMB.
7. Now you can make input changes in the tool's panel and then LMB to do the chamfering.
For more information see, Help > StreamLine Tools > How To Use StreamLine Tools?
Q: I'm trying to set my tools up so they activate the tool with options 'on tapped', so I can tap once to activate the tool with options, and just hold-and-drag to quickly perform it. So far though, I'm having no luck. I'm trying it with Chamfer in Edge mode, any idea why this isn't working? I'll download the latest version at work as well, to check if it's not just a bug.
A: You have activated a visual tool. A visual tool does not behave like a streamline tool.
Q: Could delete be added to the Streamline Tools? This way I could have delete on tapped, but when held down I could Merge verts/Collapse edges&faces or whatever else is thematically related.
A: Not sure your intention. But 'Delete' is just a command tool so you should be able to set it to the 'On Tapped' event of any streamline tool.

-It's a streamline tool, though. And I want it to continue to function as it does, but when I tap it I want the visual tool. Is that possible?
-Also, pressing a number during chamferring exits the tool. I'd like to preview it dynamically as well.
edit: I wasn't very clear, so here's a screenshot of the settings:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17715/VW_Chamfertapped.png
-Edit: another thing I ran into, and this may be because I don't understand the system fully (let me know!), but I've set this up:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17715/VW_Co..._highlight.png
-And Collapse only works on my selection, not a highlighted component. Also, is there really no collapse for faces? I tried just using edge collapse, but that didn't work. It seems to me that would be really useful?
-I also noticed that there's only a loop/ring collapse (which is awesome!), but I'm still missing something that really just collapses everything to one point.
Sorry that I'm asking all this at once, but I'm just really getting into the customisation of vw!
-edit: now that I'm making requests anyway, how about adding extra loops to the loopcut? So that when I press 3 I get three parallel cuts? In the case of 3 cuts the two extra ones would be on either side of the one you'd get with loopcut as it is now.
-Gaploop select doesn't allow you to drag (like bridge, for instance), if I'm not mistaken. You need to actually click, can this be changed?
The same thing is true for Vertex Snap.
-Streamline tool for vertex Loop/Gap-select?
-Select similar
-Inset/Outset tool that does both, depending on which direction the user drags in? I'd find this very useful. I thought the Bevel/Inset/Outset tool would do this, but it just seems to Inset. One that does both at the same time would be great as well.
-The streamline tools I set up for move/rotate/scale don't work for bones:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17715/VW_BonesStreamline.png
-Object Shading option: Hide wireframe (and verts) on viewport translation (rotation/zooming/panning).
-Turn off verts in Shaded.

How would I go about doing this in VW?
wings has a thing called virtual mirror, you select a face and it mirrors the object at that face,
but it also mirrors all the changes you make while its active ( you can work on either side)
whats the VW equivalent of this?

vw has 2 ways of doing this depending on if you starting with only half the mesh, or with a whole mesh.
if you only got half the mesh.
geometry> symmetry cut.
in the case of a full mesh, you can center select a edge and go geometry, select calculate geometry topologically.
i actually made my own streamline tool for these tools that, has calculate geometry topologically on lmb and mmb and rmb are the 2 symmetry cuts, than i use the scroll wheel for scrolling thorough the symmtery axis used my the symmetry cut tools.
nither one of these is exactly what you want, but you can still accompilsh similar things with them, and that wings feature would be a cool one too.

Setings are still just changing randomly (at home and at work). There are a lot of junk (empty) streamline tools, and the ones I'd set up are gone. I've tried re-importing the settings I exported, but no change.

Can you send me the exported file? And please let me know which tool is missing. There could be a bug some where.
