It should be a secondary. What would happen if you spawn as a Sniper, with a primary that does no/hardly any damage, and some other secondary weapon that isn't the SMG?

I think that it's easy to think of an application for this as a primary. I can think of a few off the top of my head right now.
Thing is, should be focusing on modeling. This really fits more with the primary model and looks more like a primary weapon.

Once I get back to the weapon, I do plan to turn it into a full primary weapon replacement. And really it doesn't have to be completely useless, I mean darts can be filled with anything....even poison  .

I can totally see this doing less damage than the regular sniper but severely slowing the target.

Late on this but you can see the item as it would be in game in the model viewer. Just load up the Sniper player model then go to File>Load Weapon. Find the razorback (If you replaced it with your model) or your own unique compiled version of your crock shield and load it in. It'll be placed exactly on the player as it would be in game.

DDSN- All stats are Valve's to decide. The slot is his. If he decides secondary, I don't think the scope fits. Just my opinion.

Y_M I will put up a bigger picture of the hat after I put some time into the textures. Until then...
Here is the croc shield all setup and working in game, and the tail jiggles  (video soon). Texture is wip on this as well.

So far the entries in this contest, including my own have left a massive gap of "could be way more awesome"
This has TOTALLY filled that gap.
I will most likely hang myself if that doesn't make it into the game*
* that is not true but I would be very upset.
Even though it's perfect, perfect needs critique:
Scale the body down by just a little bit (nice pun no?) widthways and darken the strap just a little.

One of the most amazing things I've seen.
Yah, the shield strap could be darkened or even made out of similar croc skin itself. Considered that maybe the Sniper shot the crocodile in the head? That's his trademark, after all. Just a little bullet hole in the hat between the croc's eyes.

Oooh, I really like that idea! Should definitely try to do something with the other parts of the crock. Maybe it's spine with the lower part of the jaw on the end or a whip made of it's tail bones/flesh.
Anyway looking really great so far. Would be disappointing if this doesn't get in.
