Here's my concept for the demoman. I figure if he lost his original adoptive parents to the loch ness monster... they must have some ties to boating or whatever... so I'm doing an aquatic/boating/pirate-esque theme for him.

Other suggestions: You should make the tape go at a slight angle to make it look less perfect. Also, you should flip the model so all the interesting stuff is on the side that the player will see.
I they probably don't fit the game too much, but perhaps you could have the pin the wheels are attatched to still there but the whels have been blown/broken off to get less in the way?
Also I currently don't think it fits the TF2 theme, but that's probably just because it's too light, clean and lacking in team colors. I realize you will probably fix this with more interesting textures later though.

But ... TF2 is crazy ... why not going crazy.^^
It would be easier to say which one is bedder if it would be seen in First Person or in the hand of a Model.

He is a drunk all the time, so maybe he isn't sure if he use the weapon correct?
Yeah, I think some are taking it way too seriously. I'm approaching it with a more humorous take.
I think sizing them down a bit would make them look better.
