Recently seen 'City of Ember' and I want to make the all-important box:

And have it animating from new to old, and likely make 2 small environments around it (clean white room and messy closet).

I'd like to get it in UDK as well, but I'm not sure how to get the new-old animation to work. I've made this sketch of a kismet thingy:

-blue = textures
-black = stuff I understand
-red = stuff I don't understand

Is it possible to plug in a variable from the scene (for instance HP so I can shoot it to get old) to affect how the new and old texture mas get blended, or is it only possible to plug in a fixed variable in the kismet editor?

And because you're not supposed to open threads without showing some work, here's a WIP shot of the box:

(just kidding)

You should normal map that line in the middle. You'll save a lot of polys.
