created Gots a job!
on 05-07-2010 07:36 AM
I am glad to be able to add to the "I got a job" thread list! Later this month I'll be starting at Hi-Rez Studios as an Associate Level Designer. I have been a lurker on these forums for a while and I've learned a lot. I know I have A LOT to learn and I hope to contribute to the forums a little more in the future.
Thanks to all Polycounters for being AWESOME!

Thanks everyone for the kind words! I'm extremely excited and ready to get started. It's really cool seeing a lot of these threads popping up lately and I hope they continue to pop up even more in the future.

That's great news, man - congratulations!
What kind of portfolio did you submit for this kind of a role? I'd love to see a link to your site or any examples of work that would be applicable to this kind of gig.

My portfolio can be found at http://www.3DKP.com
I have some Unreal projects on there that I did the level designs for, I don't have the level layouts hosted on my site though, I think I should put those up at some time. I think some of the things on my resumé helped me out too. And also I think I lucked out with getting an on-site interview as opposed to a phone interview.

Congrats man. Another SCAD graduate. I never ran into you that I know of. I was in Visual Effects though, but I focused on game stuff. I took a few classes with Cookson and Johnson. Either way, congrats!

Thanks for sharing! I like your work, and yeah - on-site interviews are way better than phone interviews. Either way, awesome gig to land, man - well done!
