created dur23 - 2010 - i has maked durarts

So a bunch of stuff i was making throughout the year that either got pushed aside for work work, or just took my dear sweet time working one. I actually really enjoyed taking my dear sweet time. Not really giving two shits about whether or not i was going at industry speed. All that matter was that i made something for my own eyes. Egotistically speaking of course. har.
I don't have the polycounts at hand for the turtles and hockey, but i'll drop some statistics asap.
Turtles.

Hockey dude based on "ice hockey" the game.

This one is from my dw4 entry, yes i've been working on it about an hour or 2 a week since the contest ended. Again, taking my dear sweet time.

Dude, fantastic. The turtles scene is great, though the grass seems a bit out of place.
Ice Hockey is awesome too

The turtles are awesome, I wish you would have made the head bands a different color to represent each one.
|
|
That's some awesome work! I agree that the only thing that's hurting the turtle piece is the grass. If you are gonna leave it I'd make it a bit more desaturated at least. But that's a minor gripe, fantastic stuff.

turtles is nice, however, uv's on ankles may need some relaxing, and there is a strange dotted line on thier foreheads.

i saw those turtles on cgtalk, didn't know it was you, but my first thought was this: Your composition of that image is bad. It could be so much more cool. Go find some videos of ninja turtles cartoons or the comics or something and copy one of their layouts, because yours is just killing your cool work.

To whoever wanted the turtles to have different headband colors, the style makes me think of the ORIGINAL TMNT, the comic by Eastman and Laird. Their headbands and belts were all red in that one.
Which, of course, means you captured the look of the originals durn near EXACTLY, Dur23!

Crop this image so that the black background isn't visible - it's ruining the illusion! I love this one, btw!

I was just thinking you had a penchant for long necks, but then I got to the third image. Despite ruining that thought, really nice work there!

I realize the grass is a fair bit over saturated. I didn't fix it, i may do that. I'm just a touch on the lazy side with regards to playing with this more.
I did however crop the image as per adam's suggestion.
Thanks all for the comments and crits as usual.
Here's some texture shots and wireframes.

Nice, although I like the hockey player shot with the camera rolled, more than the straight on shot you have now. I would still have the image cropped with way you have it now though.

Love the Ninja Turtles scene. Just not sure why they are all wearing the same color??? Love the O'Reilly Ass Factor. Priceless!!
The hockey one was pretty legit as well. Like the black eye.
Great Work!

Bradmayers: I'm confuzzed. :|
Downarmy: The skate shape is baked from high poly and the threading on the toe is done with texture overlay in post.
GAV! LOVE!
Kincade: I was a little embarrassed to put that in though.
