created Humanoid GIANT
on 01-19-2010 08:34 AM
My giant's inspiration is from the story of Jack the Giant Killer. These things are huge. These silhouette tests are made with a Japanese brush pen. I plan to do some more tests using the silhouettes as a base in photoshop before cleaning up a final concept for my 3d model's inspiration. I look forward to hearing what you guys think.

12,17,18 and the whole last row (21-25) are great...22 or 23 are the best, I think.

Thanks for all the positive feedback and for sharing with me what your favorites are everyone. I spent some more time tonight experimenting with mirroring the above giant silhouettes to create new symmetrical designs. Here's a rough concept using a mirrored version of number 14. I'll probably do a few more before I pick a direction to move on for the character.

I see the term "giant" has a double meaning.

Keep those comments coming. I'll also take crits on how you think I can improve these quick concepts as I'd like to get take my work to a more polished level all around. Thanks again... here's a second giant test. This one is taken from # 25

I'm exploring whether or not to go a simplified route like 1 or 2 or a route with heavy armor. I'm imagining this guy being one of maybe a clan of ancient giants that live deep within mountains living a life of constant war against the likes of balrogs, dragons and other giant forms of predators we know and love. ;) C&C appreciated as always.
