I'm now happy neox ;)

If you really want to try to put some "coding" work into it:

I'd love to see the content-screen already open below the scroller.. and the only thing mr. user does is scrolling .. there could be a delay before the concent window is updated so one can scroll through the bar without having to wait for all thumbs to load

aaaa but thats my 2 - fidyyyscent

SplatPixel : great hear concepts!!

Leviathan...that Topo really hurts me...have a look here...I know you might not plan on animating that face, but also for sculpting you might want to have proper Topology...

Yeah I know, just wanted to start sculpting asap and rushed it. Just don't need to let it become a habit.

mLichy: No i did not, i'm a 3d artist even though i should have learned that stuff in my apprenticeship, but i never like webdesign. Its written in "about" and in "contact", the layout is done by press75, i searched for portfolio layouts for wordpress that don't look like a normal blog, i had that before and it implies that i'm willing to cotribute via writing, but i'm not a writer and really don't write as much text as i create 3d stuff so i needed a change. Also i wanted a clean and professional presentation and thought the "folio-elements" layout definitely fits these needs. I found quite a lot of other nice looking layouts but most where too complex or blog style.

@rollin: not quite sure what you mean, but i guess you mean that the conent doesn't open in an extra window but add a table or div or whatever below the large gallery thumbnail? I doubt i can do that with my VERY limited knowledge, all i can do is copy paste and edit what i think i understand

@leviathan: i guess if you just wanted to sculpt, you could better just create an even simpler basemesh or use a premade one, thats more quadbased with an even distribution of detail, look at the mudbox baseman for that, thats what i use pretty much all the time, you are free-er when developing forms and shapes when you don't have too much flow already defined, but thats just my experience

@kiripiri: a bit nopisy but some really nice shapes in there!

@Neox: On your new portfolio, the largest word on the page is "portfolio". What's more important, stating that it's a portfolio or stating the name of the person whose work and portfolio it is?

Might want to swap your name into that text area if possible. Other than that, it looks good and works well.

doing a bunch of brick and stone textures for the folio, playing with a similar workflow to what bobby rice/crazyeyes suggested in his thread.

I decided that I needed some practice nailing down my high to low workflow before applying it to two environment scenes I'm working on right now, so I decided to focus on finishing more assets.

As such, I'm making this portable communications unit from Paul Richards' awesome concept art from Quake 4:

Still messing with edgeflow and proportions right now, but the main focus of this piece for me will be the texturing - I need to start putting in more time in Photoshop, and thought this would be a good piece to practice.

Thank you very much for the videos! <3
Wanted to ask, how would you translate those brush strokes into zbrush.
That is, your strokes are like /\ (pinched and sharp) but even with some tweaking my strokes come out like /`\ (like a hill with a smooth gradient). Maybe i should play with the settings more :P as atm i have to pinch the smooth strokes and so on. Bah, im blabbing :S

Thanks again

I usually use a combination of decobrush and Slash 3 to lay down wrinkles. You can get a nice looking effect going quite quickly.

i am sure you can create some custom alpha to replicate a sharp falloff.

the one i have for standard brush looks like this:
