Well i started this last night mainly just because i was bored. its based off of this
concept. if anyone knows who its by please let me know i would like to credit them as the concept is not mine. i have changed the scale though to be even bigger. my computer is already chugging if i copy over the treads of the high poly. But i started crunching some numbers of just how low the low poly would be if do it the way i would like and well its not so low the treads alone without wheels comes out to around 36,000 tris. so one question i have is, is this even worth doing 36,000 tris is quite a bit, but because of its massive scale should i be thinking in terms of env work? Or just scrap it?
heres what i have so far. the treads on the top left are a test bake. the high poly is also un-smoothed because if i smooth it with high quality viewport rendering maya will most likely crash.
