created Twisted metal?
on 09-10-2009 07:59 AM
Well, My mind is on reboots lately and the thought crossed my mind "Where did twisted metal go? It was like the biggest game ever back in the day, I played all the time. Imagine what TM would be like with todays talent and tech.

One of my favourites as well, especially in multiplayer, coop vs enemies. I played Twisted Metal since the ps1, it's on the ps2 as well. I wonder were it went as well, and really hope they will make another one for a recent console.

David Jaffe's game company is working on a new one, i saw some art tests they were giving out to level artist's and they were vehicle tests :P
Also at the end of twisted metal head-on PS2 edition there is a little easter egg:

Final critic: Do what you think is best for your designs.

2 and Black were fucking awesome. Really hope they can bring back the series as it is perfectly suited for some local multiplayer and online mixed together. I still love all the little 'easter eggs' in the levels on TM2, especially Paris and New York City

This is something i've always been really interested in. Where did all these games come from and where did their designers go? Did the dude who thought of all the really cool stuff move on to better things? Sure doesn't seem so...
The history of gaming really doesn't have much of a track record, that's why the future seems so cloudy. But that's how the big companies like it, keep it all under wraps and build the monopolies. But what do I know, maybe i should go put my tin foil hat on.

Oh yes please. A new TM would be awesome... Also a new Road Rash would be fun. Hell yeah...

I played a ton of Twisted Metal 2. I was looking around recently for something to satisfy that urge. Looks like the more recent TM games are nothing to look at. And if the newest revision is PS3 only, it also won't be played.
Try DIPRIP, the HL2 mod on Steam, for some good "free" Car Combat acton.

Probably, as most of those there were from Incognito (TM:Black).
