created soo. Minecraft.

www.minecraft.net
I highly recommend playing this.
Free, but of course you can get special privileges if you donate.
basically, cube based building...
with 32 player mp
it's pretty crazy seeing what other people have built, personally i've spent over six hours building a gigantic golden tower with a roof garden, etc..
I suggest the gigantic map server. It has a rainbow road. Also, dont go randomly deleting blocks, you will get kicked (ground blocks are ok, but otherwise, leave it be.)

This is awesome! I wonder what'd be needed to run a server.

This reminds me of the old blockland game, now that was an awesome game. The new un-lego version is kinda meh. http://www.blockland.us/index.asp?p=Media

This is awesome! Especially when you are a level designer
Kinda similar to Cube/Sauerbratenthingy but more accessible. And apperantly one of the ideas is to make a zombie game where you first build a fort together, then hold off the waves. Awesome potential.

not sure I understand the point but I love how epic it is and that you can pretty much just go and do whatever.
is there any goal?
not that there has to be, just wondering if I'm missing anything.
we should totally have a PC server - can you import custom Block textures?
also, if we had a PC world, would it stay persistent?

yes, worlds are persistent cause you can save them, and you can import custom textures for player models if you donate, not sure about block textures.
the goal is to build shit, obviously, but in the future their will be survival mode (dig around, build a house, hunt animals, live)
Zombie mode (build a fortress before the sun goes down, then zombies arrive, fight them off)
few other modes i cant remember

if you dont want random people joining the server, you could get the admin to build an indestructible prison at the spawn, and have a password to let the player out of it, ya know

agree. So many times I've destroyed the base of a tower hoping to see all the people above scream for their life as it falls. lol. really though i think one of the blocks atleast works with gravity. think it was the sand type block.

Don't different blocks do different things when placed next to other blocks? I thought the sponge block removed water...
