Hi guys,
here is my entry. I know a workshop is meant to show work in progress as stated by rules too, but please bear with me, this is the very first time I post a model in a forum and sincerely don't feel completely at ease. Anyway next won't be first anymore

I chose the EOTech Holographic Site 553. Here is the model in obj. The format adds some edges since doesn't seem to support n-gons. I left them in the model where didn't affect the final result, at one with EarthQuake that if the final product is something visual, a problem that cannot be seen, isn't actually a problem.

I hope you like it, comments and critiques are welcome.

Nice stuff dude, you can check your obj export options and(atleast in max) set the output to "polygons" instead of "quads", if you set it to quads it will turn your ngons into quads/tris.

Really good attention to detail, nice to see the bottom modeled out.

Thank you, I'm really happy you like it, it means a lot to me. I just updated the model link in first post with a new version. I'm on Max9, but oddly it disregards "Polygons" set in export options, and forces faces to quads the same. I ended up using gw::ObjIO by GuruWare and it seems to do a way better job.

These workshops are a great oportunity to learn from you. I'm looking forward to what's to come. I'm grateful for your effort.
