Bi-Monthly Game Art Workshop - Topic suggestion
If you have a cool idea for the workshops, please do so here, there are a few rules:
1. Do not post unless you have an image, replies like "oh that is so cool", will just clutter up the thread.
2. You may post multiple images, but dont go crazy with it, stick with a few good ones rather than dumping 50 images in one post.
3. If you find good reference with multiple images, post one or two images here, and link to the website with the rest of the images.
Something important to note, the more reference you can provide the better. If you post a blurry, low res image from a poor angle and thats it, there is a good chance your topic will not be chosen. Something with high-res images from multiple angles is always preferable.

Mountain bike, lots of variety and complexity there, and variety in models (pennyfarthing ;))

Proper vehicle edge flow is often overlooked and would make a great topic for alot of users.

I havent seen many chandeliers, If a high poly bake is being made its interesting to see how. Also if its straight diffuse / spec (lower poly ect) its also interesting to see how the creator decides which parts are alpha and which are modeled and how that is all handled.
Also texturing, they usually have iron, metal, paint, crystal and light/glow/flickering which is interesting to see different takes on that!

a tree! Too many people are not very good at making trees, and a lot of artists seem to avoid having to make vegetation! Would be good practice, and there's lots of different techniques to explore =)

trees would be most awsome.....
could pick a reference tree, game type(makes a big difference to how they should be constructed), specs and see all the different ways of making it

How about a gauntlet? There is hard and soft surface, organic material for the leather gloves etc and some pretty approachable texture work for the etching etc.
I feel the natural progression now is to do combined hard and soft surface.

That thing would be intense! I'd love to see some of the pro hi-poly guys here tackle it though. I'm sure we'd all learn tons.
A bicycle could be fun?
Found this in another thread:
Jaws of life anyone?
