Zbrush 3 sub division history errors?

Hey guys,

I need your help once again! I have run into problem when I try to subdivide my hand model in zbrush. Here are the facts:

I deleted subdivisions 3-5 because I didnt like them and wanted to do them over.

I detailed only one hand, I masked the other one so I could concentrate better and spin around one hand.

I try to subdivide and it tells me go to the lower level, I go to the lower level and it tells me to go to the highest level...What gives?

I did try unmasking everything and it still wont work

I want to be able to subdivide again past level 2...As of right now the best I can do is hit subd, and it increases the poly count but doesnt show up as a level and the model doesnt change.

Hey Vik thanks for the quick reply, I did try that...Didnt work tho...I have a ton of sub tools could that be jamming it up?

AFAIK subtools shouldnt make a difference, since there can be only one subtool active at a time (meaning you can sculpt on). Did you try to clear any alpha masks before subdividing?

Yeah Im pretty sure---you mean hit the clear button under Masking?

Okay so I got it to allow me to Subd again but only if I delete the 2nd level, which I dont want to do, because I am happy with it. Anyway to not waste this work would be best lol.

Strange. If you feel comfortable with it I can have a look at your file in Zb if that helps.

I think I got it working. Turns out your subtool is only partially visible, and also has a mask on it (probably by accident). This should solve it: open the file, and in the Masking rollout first click on ShowPt to unhide the rest of the subtool, than go to Lvl2 (press D), and finally, hit CLear to clear the offending mask. You should be able to subdivide now. Lemme know if it works for you.
