created The Polycount Store
on 09-03-2008 10:52 AM
Hello!
It is with great pleasure that I can finally show you guys
what we've been working on for the past couple of months
here at Polycount:
Our first initial batch of items will be 3 limited t-shirt designs,
one of which you guys will be familiar with. Our goal is to
constantly update the store with new designs & products for
you guys to let everyone know the colours you bleed.
Most countries can pay with Paypal
Everyone can pay with Credit Card
Sizes are S, M, L, XL, XXL
Colours, for now, are black or white cotton
We've tested the shirts ourselves and the quality is great
Any technical issues with the site feel free to let me know.
However, if you'd like to find out how you can pay for a shirt
and you're in a country that the store can't support Paypal,
please e-mail Spreadshirt about payment alternatives.
100% of the money we make from the store
will be going directly back in to the website.
This store is not for our own profit! You may remember us
talking about wanting to make Polycount the greatest online
resource for videogame art and this store is the first stepping
stone to achieving that.
From here on out we'll be able to develop the ideal website
that we've also been working on now behind the scenes...
for nearly a full year! So, if you bleed Black & Green as we
do and want to show your support, there's some awesome
t-shirts in the store and more great things to come.
Thanks everyone!
Adam
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
UPDATE:
Hey guys, just a note that we've opened a European
store that should ship at a relatively cheaper to
Europeans and other countries like Japan & Australia.
As always, I'd love to see pictures of you guys wearing
your PC t-shirts once you've received them! You can
post those pictures here!
This store and the US store will hold the same products as closely as
possible. The t-shirt brands, however, are different and the technique
in printing is also different so the colours between the US store and the
European store may be different, but only slightly.

Oh, I'm missing a size chart. Sadly S,M,L.... doesn't tell me anything cause if it's the American version it is usually one or even two sizes more than what we got over here. No kidding. Tried to find it but I couldn't.. if you don't know what I mean then there's an example over at Threadless where I buy t-shirts occasionally... erh.. here.. http://www.threadless.com/sizechart

Awesome. The css on the purchase page must be screwed. the form color is the same as the background, so its impossible to work with.
Kawe: Right next to where you choose a size, it says 'size chart'

Yeah some of the website is really hard to see and a size chart would be really nice, for chest size and length. Sometimes a L is a little too big. For reference I'm 6'3" and 184lbs. For shipping to Canada is pretty expensive as well since it's for $20 will have to pay import duties no?

would have preferred AA over Fruit of the Loom - any plans to offer a choice?
this is just me nitpicking. if not, i'll still get at least one to support the community.
looking forward to seeing what the store grows into!

Yeah I'm about the same as you, Waz. I'm just going to try a medium and if it's too small just give it to someone and bump up to the large.

D'oh! I can't decide. I definitely am going to get one though. I still wish it was a dark grey instead of black but that's just me being nit-picky. Any thoughts of having design contests for future PC shirts?

Awesome, although I was really hoping for a green shirt as suggested in the other thread.
As soon as I get some moneys I'll have to pick a couple up
btw, I was just chatting with a friend and realized there aren't many options for the ladies of polycount?

Coloured shirts & lady styles will be in the updates, I promise.
As for American Apparel - we can print on them, and we will in the future. We have some 'premium' shirts in the pipe that will cost a bit more. Mostly to offset the nearly 150% incrase in cost of AA shirts over Fruit of the Loom.

Really? I'm surprised it is turning out so costly. Obviously I don't know the other factors involved, but usually when I order a custom tee from them on AA it comes to about $22.
Regardless, glad to hear of the future options.

I bought 2 shirts and washed them each about 4 times in a row, no shrinkage.

Thanks, Adam. I went with small anyway, as it is bigger than any other shirt I have. Only by a few inches though, so it should be fine.
