I don't like his fat cheeks, it makes him look like a redneck
fine. If you don't want me to do art, then I won't.

Looking awesome, but yeah, I have to agree about the cheeks: Is it deathly-allergy season?

I think all but the head looks great. Something you might want to consider is to ditch the anime style for this. I can understand trying to stay true to the source material and all that junk, but you could do a lot better giving him some more realistic facial features and still maintain some anime-esque style. Pants and arms could also use some more shape, I think. Then again, he's a kid, so his arms may not be that muscular/defined, but consider this: he is constantly fiddling with balls and tossing them at small critters pretty hard, he probably has some muscle.

What freaks me out is actually the eye area. Looks like his eyes is about to pop out.

eyes need some work,- though I think that the wired picture also hides some of the qualities, imo without the wires it looks already alot better:

on the fingers perhaps also some sharper and more clear details

you need to work on his face structure more. to much cheek and jaw. and the part of the glove where the fingers come out of the glove needs some touching up. it looks like the gloves are squeezing his fingers off. rest is pretty on as far as the cartoon.

I think the face is okay, but I think maybe you need to point the chin a bit more. Its hard when working off cartoons, because you lose a definate element of depth.

Thanks Brody, Poison is not a Pokemon character :P
I'm wrapping up the texturing next and softening up some of the hard edges in the normal map, then calling him done!

He seems to have a strange dirtyness to him, which i think is due to the lighting. A skin shader would probabbly do wonders here. Atm i get this creepy/surreal vibe from it, and i think its because of how he's lit/rendered.

Yeah, I agree about the eyes. Make the top of the eye sockets rounder.
The normal mapping on the jeans is really damn hot, though.
