yeah just got back from portugal after a week .
I am really suntanned. had a great time in Albufeira in the Algarve.
I recommend Portugal to anyone
People are really really friendly and luckily they all speak good english.
My portuguese extends to 'Ola' and 'Boa Tarde'
Went on an excursion to Gibraltar and then cape st vincent the day after Gib was a 19 hour coach journey - jesus wept
It was around 30 degrees that day with nice breeze.
Didn't like all the english bars with football on tv in Albufiera - serving fish and chips/english food
kind of like Blackpool in the sun, but did try some local dishes after a bit of exploring.
yeah in the uk if you order a measure of vodka you get a paltry amount but in Europe you get a
tall glass half filled with vod.
yeah don't much feel like working now

What, you were here and didn't tell? haha I live on the opposite side of Portugal (on the top north) anyway and I actually don't like Algarve, too expensive for what it is. Next time come to the north and you'll experience a much more portuguese vacation. not some commercial british highly expensive resort stuff

sorry Vitor - yeah i would like to see a bit more of the real portugal next time.
The algarve as you say is very expensive too and it was hard to find any really good places to eat.
plenty of chinese restaurants and mc donalds though.
ha ha spend most of my time in the uk in sainsbury's local, spend most of my time in portugal in 'modelo'

Porto and Lisbon are beautiful and a lot of fun, way better than the South, I love us British but can't stand to see a Sunday Roast and Carling on sale on holiday. If you ever get the chance take the train from Porto down the Duro river to the vinyards. Its awe inspiring stuff!

hell yeah man! its Douro btw.
if you do that trip i can see from the shore of the river since i live kinda next to it.
I did that trip once but on car along side of the shore. pretty nice.
Ppl that do that usualy take a boat, and go all the way up the river and then come back to Porto by train.
