Long time no pimp, so I decided to show some of the 2d stuff that has been piling up on my HD. These are mostly studies from photos since I'm not overly confident with my 2d skills and so all the crits and advice is more than welcome. I reckon this page might get 100 times more hits than the entry on my blog showing the same thing, so I hope this sketchbook will pay off in terms of giving me a motivational kick that will ensure this type of post from me is not an isolated incident, but rather a regular occurrence.

Thanks for stopping by

some really nice paintings and studys in there, I assume most of these are from reference? Im certainly not one to offer guidance as Im just learning too but these are my suggestions.Iit would be cool to see you experiment with some original random character designs every now and then, like once youve done a cool picture maybe try and use the same style of lighting or colour palette to do your own character or something? that would also be a great test of what youve learnt and you can come back to it in a year and laugh at how much youve improved :P .

Thanks guys!
Sorry for taking so long to reply - kinda feel bad replying to my own thread without anything new to show.

Ged: yeah, that's the point of these exercises and I do draw from imagination every now and then, but I don't think most of it is worth showing.

To show I'm not quite dead yet, here's some 3D, in anticipation of X-Files movie. The reference is in the upper right corner :P
