This happened on Saturday, around 6:30pm. I was playing some TF2 in my computer room, and my gf was getting dressed to go out with some friends. We heard a bang, but didn't bother to look. Our upstairs neighbors have 3 very loud kids, who make loud bangs all the time. It also didn't sound like it came from outside, so why bother if sounded normal to us, right?

Around 11pm, I took out a bag of trash, and walked right into this. The left pillar here is right by my door. The other pillar is in front of my neighbor, who has 2 kids of their own. A few feet off, and this asshole could have gone through their living room, or my front door.

No cars or people were around when I went out there, but glass/debris was all over the place. I notified the sheriff's office, as well as the apartment complex personal. As of this morning when I took these pics, no one has come to inspect or clean it up. That building is an enclosed parking spot, btw.

holy shit.... the car or whatever hit it has got to be pretty banged up and probably someone that lives in the area close to you.

I am guessing they had a few too many Irish Car Bombs or Whiskey Sours.

Find them yourself and make the hole larger with their skulls.

Sorry about that man, I needed a place to drain the beast. I shouldn't have whipped it out so fast, but I was a bit drunk at the time

That's Reno's police department for you. I saw a tv show about them once. Bunch of morons.

Good news is that it's an apartment and not a house/condo.

Shit, glad to see no one was hurt. I notice there's no skid marks on the road and the small plants seem ok. What kind of odd angle did it hit the building?

The angle had to have been very odd indeed. In the first pic, where there's dirt on the walkway on the right side of the image - there was a railing there. So they had to have backed up and over the curb, missed the "slow" sign, took out the railing, then turned to avoid the apartments, hitting the garage instead. I say backed up, because there's tinted glass all over the place, and it's illegal to tint a front window. So they must have blown out a back. From the looks of it, it was a SUV/Hummer/Van, or something like that. No tire marks, though =\
That building is mostly drywall/sheet rock/cage wire and paint, so it wouldn't have taken a terrible amount of force to do this.

I have to give a verbal/written statement to the police tonight, not like I'll be much use. I didn't actually see what happened.

I bet someone was backing up and confused the gas with the brakes. I did that once when I was 15 and bumped into a pole.

And yes, it probably is someone who lives nearby you. Go for a jog every now and then and check out the parked cars.

The truth is out there, hawken.

Hopefully someone, somewhere in this complex saw what happened. I wish my neighbors weren't so damn loud though. I'm so oblivious to loud bangs, I don't even bother
If it were a bad accident, the poor person could have been out there for hours.

Yeah, it could be worse, could be your house, and you would have to pay to fix it. As long as they didn't bust up anything of your personal property, it's the apartment complex's problem. Unless they are blaming you.
