Spyro the Dragon: The Eternal Night.
Our studio was contracted out by Krome Studios to do all the artwork for the game and it was a fairly messy ordeal, which I won't really get into.
But to have worked on an IP as big as Spyro for my first title was huge for me. Unfortunately I haven't been given permission to pimp any of my work which is a shame. So I'll find a way to take some screens from the retail version and post them up.
But going through the booklet today to look through the credits. I was really disappointed to see my name credited incorrectly. I was an Environment Artist on the project and was credited as a Prop Artist. So that's kinda taken most of the fun out it, considering the amount of hard work and effort I put into the environments. [/rant]
Hope some of you guys get a chance to check it out, I personally don't suggest investing money into the game unless its for your kids. The gameplay is non-existant, but thankfully wasn't handled by our studio.

Thanks heaps guys, I really appreciate it.
Until I can get some proper screens, the vids I posted should get the general idea across.

The first link, its a vid of the level I designed (but didn't build). I was asked by my Art Lead to design a level with floating ships at the request of the publisher. I spent the next 3 days building placeholder mesh, working props, event cameras and the final layout and most of the gameplay for the level. A few things were taken out because it required new code to implement.

The second link, if you watch the 'bullet time?', 'dragon time' and/or 'fighting fury' vids. That's a level I did the final polish on. It was designed and built by another environment artist, it was my job to do the environment dome, final polish and clean up and the lighting.

I'll have to get screnies of the main level I worked on (and was heavily raped on it from so many design changes), but if you happen to get your hands on the game, it was the Enchanted Grove level, I did a "re-skin" of a level to theme it to a new one (to this day, I still think it looks like shit), I also did a great portion of work on the Celestial Caves level, and I did a few of the skydomes.

Sorry to hear about the title error in the manual. I'm really amazed at how often I hear about that happening, so at least you're not alone.

Hopefully you got some work in there you're happy with that wasn't too molested by design changes. I'll be keen to see some screens of your stuff!

Congrats from me too, mate. Here's hoping your version of the game is reviewed a little more kindly than the DS one.

As for credits, my name doesn't appear in either the manual or in game credit role of my first game.

Thanks once again guys.
A shipped title is a shipped title and I know I shouldn't let it bother me, because I know what I did on the project and that should mean a lot more than what the credits say.
I did learn a shitload while on the project (though I have to thank Polycount for a good portion of that learning) and I'm currently doing character work on our current project which is what I initially applied for.
So here here to anyone who's shipped a game and here here to all future ones! So raise them beers (and in my case, a non-alcoholic beverage).

Congrats man. Credit mistake is a bummer, but really the important thing here is your name is on a published title. Just wait until you pour a year or more into a project and it ends up in storage somewhere. Though at least they are learning experiences.

Do post some screenshots when you get a chance.

Awesome stuff the art looks great. My nephews love Spyro and I'm sure they'll get a kick out this one even if the gameplay is a little hallow.

Don't let the credits get you down that just gives you a talking point in future interviews.
Future Employer: SO it says you where a prop guy on Spyro?
You: Actually I did a mother F-Ton of environment work.
Future Employer: Oh yeah?
You: They put me down incorrectly in the credits.
Future Employer: do you have examples?
You: sure take a look at this, this, oh and this, and that over there, and this... (30min later)
Future Employer: Wow that's a lot of work, it all looks great. Want a job?
