i will get a new mouse anyday now,
im looking at the logitech 518mx mouse that looks great,
but thinking about learning how to use a trackball mouse,
there cheaper and wont cause you to get carpel tunnel i hear,
my friend had one once and i used it,its differnt for sure,,
how do you guys think it works with 3d and gaming and such,

My instructor recommend our class a vertical aligned mouse.

It's weird, but he said it's really comfortable for the wrist and arm working long hours.

I used to use a a trackball at one point because I had no space for a mouse on my desktop. The Trackman was what I used with the thumb controlled ball, very good and it was decent at FPS games too.

Only thing is I had to pop out the ball and clean the contacts every now and then.

i may just go get the logitech 518mx mouse,
been using a reg mouse over 10yrs and no issues now,
lets hope i didnt curse my self saying that,lol

I have the Microsoft optical trackball mouse and think its a great mouse. I much prefer the trackball setup to flailing my hand all over a desk. I also have to take the ball out from time to time to clean it. I have the four buttons setup from left to right as: single click, double click, right click, esc. I've been using that setup for a few years and really like it. I also have a Nostromo N52 that i used to use and had programmed with CAD and SketchUp macros, but haven't been using it as much.

A friend of mine picked up a different variety of those vertical mouse with more of a joystick pistol grip setup a strange thing to see, but apparently comfortable to use once you get used to it.
