I'm trying to import a spline path from 3ds max into CS2. I saved it out as a .AI file. Now I'm hoping to use it as a Path in Photoshop, not dumb it down to pixels, as the CS2 AI loader seems to want to do.

Anybody have luck importing paths?

The only way I know is to turn the spline to a mesh and export the uv map with PSDPathUnwrapper ( http://www.rpmanager.com/freeTools.htm#pathunwrapper ).

It will turn the Edges of the UV map into a Photoshop path and save it as a .psd file with a path layer.

um.. so you have it open in Illustrator??
Illustrator: Ctrl+C
Photoshop: Ctrl+V

Obviously if your wanting to import paths to texture an object then its better to use the PAthUnwapper.
