Wondering what people think of the released pic of Spider-man 3's Sandman?
http://spiderman.sonypictures.com/
When I first heard who the actor was going to be, I was really skeptical. But then, all I really remembered about the actor was his role in Wings, and him seeming pretty skinny. I didn't think he could get the bulk to pull it off (although, there is that shirt bagginess in the back). Man, they have such great casting for their villains.
However, I really don't like the stripped shirt. I know that's what the Sandman wore, but it just doesn't work in real life. If it had less contrast between the 2 greens, I think it would be better.
(i hope this isn't old. did a search, didn't find an actual pic like this)
If they ever come up with a swashbuckling School, I think one of the courses should be Laughing, Then Jumping Off Something.

Looks cool, and I'm sure his character while be awesome on film. Seems kinda silly tho. Guy made of sand and all.
I'm more worried about Forman's role.

Looks great , the shirt and the pants are kinda off looking in that photo almost looks photoshoped . Even if he was on the skinny side it would have been alright really ..I mean the guy attacks you with sand not his muscles right ?

Sandman is such a weak character... Its going to be a team up I hope? Or Is Spidey going to have a minor fight with him in the beggining and the rest of the film is Venom?

sandman weak? what? hes the guy who before venom kicked spidys ass almost daily. thats why hes in this movie. Sandman can take any form he wants and harden any of his body he wants to as well. thats weak?

Well if they do it right, and spidy at least part of the film wears black, all he will have to say is "I wuv you," to Venom.

yeah sandman was far from weak, if you want weak call in the vulture or shocker,
sandman looks boffo in that pic, i for one do not believe that the characters in the movie have to look like clones from the comics, in comics almost every main character are dwawn as body builders, just cause its how comic artist draw,

I agree with Mojokey. I think it's ok for the films to move away from the traditional looking villan. Looking forward to seeing how the pull it off with Topher Grace.

he looks like he's been bulking up for the role. he looks very iconic without looking too cartoony, which is a balance the Spiderman films have been pretty good about maintaining. pretty exciting stuff

hmm notice his right arm is much bigger than his left arm? Anyway, I hope that spidey will find his black suit this time and that they spread its 'evilness' in two(or more?) movies...

Spoon: I noticed that immediatly! His right arm seems WAY bigger. Perhaps its just the angle, or perhaps its something intentional...I dunno!

I think it's just the angle of the arm.
