I saw this challenge just yesterday. Since then I worked almost 6 hours straight get it this far.

It still needs some small details around the outside.
Am I only allowed to use one texture file?

I trimmed down the poly count to 4992, but it's going to be a nightmare now to texture it and align the UV mapping. Not sure if I'll ever get the texturing complete.
