Rurouni Kenshin : Redemption

Brief description:
Rurouni Kenshin: Redemption is a Total Conversion for Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy based on the Rurouni Kenshin (also known as Samurai X in the US) anime/manga. The gameplay of Jedi Academy will be drastically altered to create a true 3d Kenshin feeling to the game.
All characters wil reflect their anime-counterparts by their own unique techniques, or 'waza', their own (in most cases) unique character traits, special chained attacks, or combos, and statistics.
Many features will be added, such as a lock system, evasive moves, counters, stance system to be more truthful to real sword techniques, a stamina system where characters can get exhausted.

We will feature several game modes such as a story mod, free for all, team battle, duels, capture the scrool, cooperation missions(with various objectives).

We have been developping the game for 2 years now, therefore we are already pretty far in the development.

Target aim:
Freeware, we will release the game in several stages on our website [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Compensation:
All the experience you'll get with the project, working in a friendly team, and of course pleasing all the fans waiting outta there =)

Technology:
programming language : C
You're free to use the tool you want to program in C.

Talent needed:
Requiring a C coder to implement the final features to a fairly complete JKA mod. The features would include a stamina system, a combo system, stance mode, indivudual traits for all the characters (including speed, power, dexterity, etc. different for each character) . The coder would be working within a structured team and would require a good understanding of variables, functions, classes, array and other methods. The current proposal aims for completion in december or early 2006 and working amongst the current team.

There are currently 11 members in the RKR crew :

1 coder, 2 animators, 1 skinner, 2 mappers, one texture/2d artist, 2 music composers, 1 sound designer, 1 webmaster

Again, Polycount is not a place to recruit coders. You might be better off looking for one at Lucasforums.

Well, thanks for informing me about it, i didnt know ^^
Of course i know that polycount is about modelling, texturing etc, but since there are many people that can code in addition of doing 2d/3d art, i thought that it would be worth a try.
